What's That Smell? *sniff - sniff*

I recently watched ‘Perfume’, upon recommendation from a new friend. Heard about it I have, and you can say that I am aware of a movie bearing the title, but that’s about it. So, there I was in front of me telly, watching the epilogue, and not knowing what to expect from the movie.

And to my suprise.... It is of so much element. The first chapter is filled with spilling fish guts, vormit, carcasses, muck, dirty nails, more spilling fish guts, more carcasses, and even more spilling fish guts and carcasses....... oh, you know what I mean. But as we moved to the second part, it switched to a wonderous and aromatic delight, as if all the fragrance from the movie came to life. And the final part was just diabolical and sinister, with a lot of uncanny death, one disturbing orgy scene and one vengeful finale.

It was fish guts, then perfume and finally death.

It was, disgusting, then deserving and punishment, last.

It was revolting-pleasant-unforgiving.

Illed-odourous, refreshing, merciless.

How disturbing? And I lurrrrrrrrveeee disturbing stories. I'm not happy watching it, nor was I pleased, not sad or uneasy by it, I'm befuddled but thrilled, and I liked it. Thanks Nadia for the recommendation.

.... and that's that.

Song of the day

This may sounds lame, but as you all should know by now, yours truly was born and grown during the heights of the age where big hairs, tight pants and oversized jackets are at its peak. At four or five, I was already singing or rather mumbling - at that time - the song 'Papa Don't Preach' and 'Karma Chameleon', via a microphone + PA system somewhat equivalent to today's karaoke machine. Promotional video, or music video as it is known these days, was at its begining course of 'killing the radio star'. As they say, you can take a person out of the 80s, but you can never take the 80s out of a person.

The day's event had eventually contribute to my flat mood this morning. Getting a call on 8.31 am, asking me things regarding work is hardly pleasant, especially when works starts at 8.30 am. Does the phrase 'settle down' means nothing these days?

Alas, the first think that comes in mind is : It's just another manic Monday..... Lame, I know. You must be thinking, the Bangles? Of all the songs about Mondays.... the Bangles?? Why Bangles?

Why not? Admittedly, yours truly does have a softer side. I am not all about taking-matters-at-my-own-hand (which I never recklessly did, ever.... yet), and dark-justice, and bla-bla-bla, gloomy and gothic stuff. There comes a time when I exhibit my Eternal Flame and there are times when I need to have fun and Walk Like an Egyptian.

Thus, behold, courtesy of the magic and wonder of the 80s, the song of the day : Manic Monday by the Bangles. Hahahahaa... gilo.

*yawn* I Hate Coming To Work on Saturday!!! Arghhhhh!!!

Saturdays. The day when the sun shines brighter than any other day of the week. The birds seemed chirpier, daisies blooming in bright yellow in green grass fields under the bright blue sky. But nobody cares, because at that time, everyone is still asleep!! No one is up yet, at least not before 7!!

Why? Why? Why?..... Argghhhhhh........

*... ippen shinde miru?* Of Grudge, Revenge, Anti-heroism & Dark Justice

So to speak, I was watching Jigoku Shouju-Girl From Hell ( live action, not anime) last nite. Brief synopsis; Should you, me or any other Jack from the street has grudges or feeling avengeful against anyone who did them wrong, they can go to this website and submit the name of the wrong-doers. Long story short, the Hell Girl a.k.a Jigoku Shouju a.k.a Enma Ai and her trusty disciples will come to torment them horrifically before sending them on a gloomy boat ride to hell. There's a catch. Once it is avenged, the submitter (??) is booked a spot in hell as well when they die. Don't you think that's rather interesting? Well, off course except for the Pre-Booked Hell Membership part.... but that is besides the point!

Let me share this with everyone now. Well, I have, how to put this... a thing, rather an acute interest in Anti-heroism and Dark Justice. Nothing appeal to me more than when justice is serve malicously and malevolently righteous. Nothing sends a spark of excitement brighter than when a dire bully is punished in vile and horrendous punishment. Nothing gives me the utmost satisfaction than to witness the wicked unjust people who thought they can escape the law finally beg to be spared their life, yet it was too awfully late then.

It's not that I'm Marilyn Manson or anything, it is just that to my believe when the governing system is innefficient, and when the supposed officials are unworthy, and when the authority is corrupted, and when the enforcers are ineffective, we resolve to one reliable mean, the one mean that we think will be able to uphold justice and by all means taking matters at our own hand. By me that would mean justice per se, not justice as in the real thing-justice (the thing my sis, Fad is intensely fighting for). By me that would mean Newton Law No. 3 that is, each action causes reaction, or rather a simple orthodox principle of it, or even the Sang Kancil version of it 'Buat jahat dibalas jahat.'

Thus, I found that movies/series/comics/anime/manga such as Death Note, V for Vendetta (fave quote: People should not be scared of their government, the government should be scared of their people) Jigoku Shoujo and...........what else arr? I can't quite think of any right now..... et cetera, et cetera..... and all of the similar type are soooooo appealing.

I say you go and watch them, recommended.

.... and that's that.

... and When The Sky Clears

How addictive!

I can't believe I'm coming in for 2nd today...
How can you blame the man, it's addictive..
Right, and I have not even begun to badmouth my boss, courtesy of the event that happened this morning.

... on second thought, emmm, nah!! The more I gibber on and about my 'indisputably more annoying than houseflies swarming around my lunch' boss, the more agitated and enraged I'll be. Thus, I shall talk about something else. (Min, sorry to disappoint you.. *I shall not badmouth the bugger no more, for I will let the idiot be*)

To all bosses out there, be kind and reasonable to your subordinates. Motivate not dictate. Dictatorship will frighten your subordinates. They will go on mutiny and leaving you doing everything to yourself. You might want to try to run the company/ project without them, but afterwards you go frantically psychotic and kill yourselves by drinking detergent your cleaner-lady left in the toilet, and you will die regretfully a horrific death. It's true. It happened once before. *cough-cough* Honestly, it's true. Therefore, I would like to implore thee, be kind.

.... and that's that.

Who's The Boss

What are we to do with bosses?

I know a boss who's supportive, motivates you to work, encourages you to explore & apply your creativity, expresses gratitude & rewards you for your deeds, and stands not behind you but in front of you to stand on-guard, to protect you, & takes resonsible for every action you did, regardless that what ever you did might, just might, possibly jeopardize the entire project. *sniff-sniff* Can that be rose I'm smelling or is it life?

But what are we to do with bosses who does the absolute opposite from the above??

Now, what ever am I rumbling about? Talking about bosses, complaining this early in the morning. O-owh.... somebody must have started the day in a rather ghastly manner....
Wey-hey-hey-itta minute, don't look at me. I am but a poor soul, cornered. Am I wrong to say that some of you ladies and gentlemen's grief and distress is nothing but similar to yours truly? Problems with bosses? May I see a show of hands? There.... See, you're not alone.

Well, if you ask me, mine is simply repugnantly revolting... or rather, as the Americans like to say it, sucks!

.... and that's that.

Remember, remember the 5th of November..

I hope i didn't scare anyone with my style.... from my previous post, that is.

It is just that I am so influenced by the cunning and wicked charm of flamboyant persona and the like of Oscar Wilde (*yawn*... suprise, suprise...), Lemony Snicket (read the book, love the style), sarcastic butlers (from a several comedy series e.g Geoffrey from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and of course, V (the gentleman in Guy Fawkes' mask played excellently by Hugo Weaving from the ever so inspiring movie 'V for Vendetta').

Thus, I would like to announce that these will be my style of blogging.
Flamboyant, cunning, with a sprinkle of Victorian charm, shaken not stirred, with cherry and a lemon wedge on the tip.... that is, until I found a new style OR maybe until I eventually get bored with this one.

Erk, I sound so vain back there..... No matter! It's my own and I will do whatever I please!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......

.... and that's that.

Wilde

Assalamualaikum wbt. friends and acquaintance...

And as we start this journey, as I said time and again, all stories and tales, had it been about truth, nothingness or whatever, is all, after all a journey. Thus I start to spill from my quill, nothing in my humble intent but merely to sharpen its tip, or as some people say, nothing more than a modest appetizer, with my favorite quote (at least for now).

Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth. - Oscar Wilde

So much to say that yours truly, nothing unlike the next person, just a man with a mask and telling truth, nothingness and whatever.

For this blog, my tales and story, or rather… journey, is all about everything, from my working life, to my spare times, my dearest friends… and everything, for “It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless information.”(-Oscar Wilde)

Thus I strife to present to you on a silver platter as much as useless information as I possibly can, the world can never get enough of it.

If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.” (- Oscar Wilde, again). Alas, warning for thee, I am no joker. Sarcastic and malevolent I may be, but humorous I may not. However, out of my fear of getting killed, I try to joke around and about, forcing smile from your faces.

As you may notice, it seems like I have an obsession with Wilde. Trust me that it is not of that sort.... To me, in spite of his self-obsessed ludicrous ethics and his worrisome sexual orientation, his ideas are versatile and he represents and influence so much of the nowadays revolutionnaire. People inspired other people. As he himself best put it “Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone elses opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” (- Wilde)

However, we paved our own route, fight our own fight, in the best way we think is appropriate and at our own passion. It’s not even proper to say that we copy everything. Essential it is, as to use mimicry and quotes of others, we are our own self. Let that be nothing but a guide, as every stroke and swing is ours still. As Oscar, again, put it “Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter” (- Wilde)

.... and that’s that.
